I am passionate about Insurance, my father founded the first broker in Peru in 1963 and without knowing I was born into the insurance industry. My whole professional life has been in the insurance industry, so far it's been 30 years. I have worked in Peru and in the UK as a retail and reinsurance broker, in a carrier and from October 2012 until December of 2019 in Hello ZUM an InsurTech startup I founded. From January 2020 until February 2022 I was the CCO of Red Salud, a Health Insurance company that is helping bridge the protection gap by making health insurance affordable for everyone.

Since April of 2022 I am the Managing Partner of The Insurance Elephant Company , which is a strategy boutique established to assist startups, carriers, brokers, service providers and investors in the insurance industry in the varied journeys upon which they can embark. Our primary focus in leveraging the experience and tenure of The Elephant’s partners is on underserved markets and populations, as well as companies that are building products and business models “from the consumers’ needs backwards”.

The Insurance Elephant Company can get involved in the definition or redefinition of business models and products. It can also help companies connect with other companies that can add services or products to enrich their offering, keeping in mind that what is being built is a puzzle for which no one has all the pieces. Additionally we can get involved in the process of raising capital.

Personally I am convinced that the only way there will be true disruption in the insurance industry, will be through a product or service that is developed from the consumer’s perspective, truly placing him at the center of the industry.
